Adopt-A-Classroom uses FBB funds to improve classroom environments

By

Adopt-A-ClassroomFourth-quarter 2011 education beneficiary Adopt-A-Classroom gave us this report about how they are using the funds contributed by members of Foundation Beyond Belief. Members donated $3,920 to Adopt-A-Classroom last quarter. Half of the total will go to the organization itself, while half goes to classroom projects selected by our members from those currently featured by AAC.

Adopt-A-Classroom is so appreciative of Foundation Beyond Belief’s efforts. With your funds, we will be able to expand our mission of helping more teachers and children succeed in the classroom.

Adopt-A-ClassroomThe challenges of teaching have become so great, and the resources so scarce, that it is difficult for classroom teachers on their own to enable students to succeed. Lack of resources in the classroom undermines teacher success and ultimately student success.  To compensate, teachers spend their own money, often hundreds of dollars each year, to purchase needed classroom materials.

Adopt-A-Classroom makes it easy for individuals to positively affect success in education by making it possible for people to adopt specific classrooms, providing partnership, support, and funding for much-needed supplies. To date, Adopt-A-Classroom has raised more than $16 million on behalf of 60,000 classrooms across the United States. We estimate that we have improved the learning environment for more than 2.5 million children.
