American Foundation for Suicide Prevention

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention is the leading U.S. national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide. They support support research, educate the public and professionals about mood disorders, and advocate for legislation that impacts suicide prevention.

Working in a subject area that can be uncomfortable or even taboo, advocacy and education to combat myths about suicide prevention is a vitally important task AFSP continues to perform.
