Ignite’s mission is to stand with youth on their journey to a home and a future with promise. Ignite supports young people between 14 and 26 in Chicago who are experiencing homelessness or unstable housing with services that range from meeting immediate needs to long term support with vocational training, stable housing, and health care. Their programming is all trauma-informed, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive.

“My life totally turned around once I got to Ignite. Just not having to worry about where I was going to sleep made a huge difference. People don’t realize how much it takes just to find food, let alone a place to brush your teeth when you’re homeless. I didn’t have a job, so I didn’t have money for these things. My Ignite case manager pushed me and supported me with important goals. We got transportation so I could get to school again every day. She also helped me get a social security card. Now I’ve got a job!” ~ Renee, Ignite graduate

Ignite was one of the meal beneficiaries for the 2019 Women of Color Beyond Belief Conference meal packing service project that FBB facilitated in partnership with the conference and Black Nonbelievers. FBB is proud to continue supporting Ignite and the important work they do.
