Vidnyanvahini

At the close of 2010, a small organization bringing science education to rural India captured the imagination of our members and netted the highest donation total for our first year. Metropolitan India enjoys world-class science education, while rural India is mired in poverty, a lack of basic infrastructure, and an abundance of superstitions.

Vidnyanvahini is a non-profit organization located in the city of Pune, which is in the state of Maharashtra, India.  It reaches out to rural school children and offers them a means of learning science through laboratory experiments. It accomplishes this using a Mobile Science Lab which was developed by the organization’s founders.
