Catholic School Atheist raises funds for Responsible Charity

Responsible CharityResponsible Charity, our featured poverty charity for the third quarter of 2011, is the beneficiary of a hugely successful fundraising drive started by Daniel, an atheist who attends a Catholic school. Daniel wanted to show his school community that atheists are charitable by beating the school’s goal of raising $600 for an orphanage in Africa. Daniel sent out a call to freethinkers across the world, asking them to support Responsible Charity’s work to improve conditions in the slums of India. Daniel has raised an astonishing $11,000 for Responsible Charity, inspiring generous donations from atheists and humanists the world over. Well done, Daniel!
