Childhood and Food Insecurity: A Fireside Chat

According to the USDA, households with children were nearly 1.5 times more likely to experience food insecurity even before COVID-19. This number more than doubled due to the pandemic, with food insecurity affecting almost 1 in 4 families.

To answer that question and more, we invited experts with connections to our most active Beyond Belief Network to one of our virtual Fireside Chats.

  • Derek Polka, Policy and Research Manager at LA Food Bank
  • Ben Ruch, Homeless Liaison at Hearth Project
  • Kyra G. Jones, Director of Health & Nutrition Shelter Services, YMCA of Central Ohio
