DONOR SPOTLIGHT: Todd Stiefel, Stiefel Freethought Foundation

By

Todd Stiefel is among the most effective and energetic activists in freethought today. As president of the Stiefel Freethought Foundation, he has dedicated himself to raising the public profile of atheists and humanists while improving our image in the public eye. He is also a trustee of the Richard Dawkins Foundation and an advisory board member for several national freethought organizations, including Secular Coalition for America, American Humanist AssociationSecular Student Alliance, Atheist Nexus, and Americans United for Separation of Church and State. SFF recently facilitated the creation of a comprehensive media source guide to assist journalists reporting on issues related to the freethought movement.

In addition to providing generous financial support for freethought initiatives whose vision he shares, Todd works to apply active humanist values to other cultural issues. It was Todd, working in concert with the American Humanist Association, who helped create the Second Chance Prom in Itawamba, Mississippi after a high school prom was cancelled rather than allow lesbian student Constance McMillan and her date to attend.

As a member of our Promethean Circle—donors who have contributed $1000 or more—Todd has been a key supporter of our work during our inaugural year.

“One of the strategies of the Stiefel Freethought Foundation is to show that nontheists and theists are equally capable of being ethical,” said Todd. “Supporting Foundation Beyond Belief is one of the best ways to move that strategy forward because of their work to demonstrate the generosity and compassion of atheists and humanists.”

We very much appreciate donations of any size. Your support helps us continue to grow and sustain this community of compassionate humanists making a positive contribution to this life and this world.
