Help us double our membership

By

Humanists Unite! If you’ve been keeping up, you know that Foundation Beyond Belief has been growing steadily: Since our inception, we’ve raised more than $880,000 for charities, and we recently received an incredibly generous donation of $240,000 from Oregon humanist Jeffrey Strang. We are fortunate to have more than 1,300 contributing members so far, and we want to double that number by the end of the year.

We can’t do this on our own, so we’re asking for your help! For the next two weeks, we’re asking you to share your love for FBB with a friend. And to say thank you to FBB members old and new:

All new members will:

  • be entered in a raffle to win a $50 Amazon gift certificate
  • be entered in a raffle to win one of five Foundation Beyond Belief mugs

ABuddhist Global Reliefll referrers who successfully convince at least one person to join FBB will be entered in a raffle to win one of five $20 Amazon gift certificates

The first 100 referrers who convince at least one person to join FBB will receive a $10 Amazon gift certificate.

The top referrer (i.e., the person who brings us the most new members) will receive a $50 Amazon gift certificate.
The second-place referrer will receive a $40 Amazon gift certificate.
The third-place referrer will receive a $30 Amazon gift certificate.
The fourth-place referrer will receive a $20 Amazon gift certificate.
The fifth-place referrer will receive a $10 Amazon gift certificate.

Team RubiconTo refer a friend (or two or twenty…), just send them an email about FBB with the subject line “Join us at Foundation Beyond Belief and help humanism grow,” and be sure to CC members@foundationbeyondbelief.org. There’s an email ready for you to use after the jump–take a look at this to see how the referral process works. You will be eligible for all referrer thank-you gifts if anyone you refer joins up, and whoever joins after receiving your email will automatically be eligible for all new member raffles.

Thank you so much for helping us grow. We sincerely appreciate everything you have done, and continue to do, to promote the values of secular humanism!

Sample email to a friend:

Hi!

I wanted to tell you about an organization that I think you would find interesting. It’s a secular humanist organization called Foundation Beyond that supports secular-friendly charities, all of which have been evaluated for program effectiveness and financial responsibility.

Members sign up to give monthly donations to any or all of the five “Humanist Giving” cause areas: The Natural World, Poverty & Health, Education, Human Rights, and Challenge the Gap (religiously affiliated organizations that do not proselytize), or the Foundation itself. You can learn more about this quarter’s five beneficiaries here, and you can learn more about Foundation Beyond Belief’s Humanist Giving and other humanist charitable projeWin this mug!cts on their website and in this video.

Joining is easy. Just click here and follow the instructions to become a member through PayPal, or email members@foundationbeyondbelief.org to become a member via your bank’s monthly bill pay option. One-time donations are also very much appreciated, but do not qualify for entries in the new member raffle.

Just until April 7, FBB is offering a big thank-you to new members. All new members will automatically be entered in a raffle to win a $50 Amazon gift certificate, as well as another raffle to win one of five Foundation Beyond Belief mugs! And if anyone I refer joins up, I’ll be entered into a drawing to win an Amazon gift card. To make sure I’m eligible for the drawing, either join up with the email address I used to contact you, or email members@foundationbeyondbelief.org to let them know I referred you. Alternatively, you can also mention me once you’ve joined up: Just log in to the site and visit the “Manage Donation” area available under “Manage Account” on the right side of the page. At the bottom of that page, you’ll be able to enter my name and email address.

Feel free to email members@foundationbeyondbelief.org with any questions about Foundation Beyond Belief. I hope you’ll consider joining!
