Humanist Crisis Response Gets Big-Name Support

Huge thanks to Michael Moore (yes, that one) and Jerry Wells for supporting FBB’s Humanist Crisis Response program. As Moore posted on his Facebook page:

For every new 10,000 twitter followers I have, I pick one at random from the 900,000+ total and give $1,000 to a charity of their choice. I recently passed 910,000, and winner Jerry Wells has asked for his $1,000 to go to the Humanist Crisis Response program of Foundation Beyond Belief for their efforts to ameliorate the catastrophic drought and famine in the Horn of Africa.

We’re honored that Michael Moore and Jerry Wells are bringing attention to the Humanist Crisis Response program. Every donation the program receives this quarter will go to International Rescue Committee, a powerful and effective disaster response organization that’s working in the Horn of Africa to provide food, water, shelter, and key services both in the refugee camps and for the hundreds of thousands of Somalis and others currently making the dangerous trek to those camps.
