Important News for BBN Student Teams!

By

Beyond Belief Network (BBN) is a program that rewards and recognizes atheist/humanist groups that actively perform community service. Joining BBN allows these groups to enjoy many advantages, including receiving credit for their efforts, perks like t-shirts and promotional opportunities, and national recognition.

However, not every Beyond Belief Network team has the same schedule to plan volunteer events. This is especially true for our student teams. Due to the shorter time frame imposed by the academic year (typically only nine months), we at BBN have decided to lower the number of events that student teams need to Level Up. The new level-up system for BBN student teams is as follows:

Level One – 3 events; The perks for this level include 8 free shirts with logo option and eligibility for Team of the Month recognition.

Level Two – 6 events; The perks for this level include eligibility for awards (including monetary prizes), eligibility for grants for your service projects up to $250 and priority in promotion and vetting requests.

Level Three – 9 events; The perks for this level include eligibility for larger grants up to $500, with larger grants considered for specific, appropriate, well-defined project development, 12 additional t-shirts and highest priority in promotion and vetting requests.

This will allow student teams to plan about one event per month to reach Level Three in a given academic year. We strongly support student activism and want student teams to have an equitable chance to earn grants and achieve all the perks available at each BBN level.
