Introducing our FBB ENCORE beneficiaries

By

encoreEach year, beneficiaries drawing the highest level of member support and enthusiasm are eligible to be featured again the next year as Encore Beneficiaries. There is no limit to the number of years an organization may receive an “Encore” from the Foundation.

wfp3After receiving the single highest vote total in our member poll, Water for People returns this year as one of eight Encore beneficiaries from 2010. Water For People helps people in developing countries improve quality of life by supporting the development of locally sustainable drinking water resources, sanitation facilities, and hygiene education programs.

Our second Encore beneficiary this quarter is The National Center for Science Education (NCSE), a not-for-profit, membership organization that defends and promotes the teaching of evolution in the public schools. The NCSE provides information and resources to schools, parents, and concerned citizens working to keep evolution in public school science education.ncse3

NCSE educates the press and public about the scientific, educational, and legal aspects of the creation and evolution controversy, and supply needed information and advice to defend good science education at local, state, and national levels.
