A Day Well Spent at a Dumagat Community

On February 25 to 26, 2023, HAPI CFO Mutya Valenzuela and HAPI Jr. Ambassador Angie Driskell visited the Dumagat of Kambubuyugan, DRT.
The purpose of the visit was to meet the children and the people living in this remote community. Ms. Mutya explained the different educational projects HAPI conducts throughout its chapters and Ms. Angie inquired about what the community needs in order to continue the lessons that the children have been participating in. These lessons have been spearheaded by a young Dumagat woman, Kristel, who is an Education student.
The children performed a dance for their guests. The dance, song, and clothes they wore are all a representation of their culture.
After serving almost 130 people their meals, school supplies were given to approximately 85 children.
