A Very HAPI Pride! – How the SOGIE Bill Affects Us All

HAPI Pride hosted an event, 'A Very HAPI Pride! - How the SOGIE Bill Affects Us All', on June 11, 2023 at the LoveYourself Cebu White House. Everyone gathered for coffee, snacks, and casual conversation before the SOGIE talk given by Niel Kintanar, LGBTQIA+ Well-being and Rights Psychologist and Advocate. The discussion included information to help allies of the LGBTQIA+ community and parents of children who will eventually need the support and safe space to be themselves. The discussions ended with a short video presentation by HAPI Junior Ambassador, Angie Driskell. This was an introduction to secularism and humanism for attendees. LoveYourself Cebu then offered free HIV screening for those who chose to stay after the event. This is the first of many HAPI and HAPI Pride activities that will be taking place in Cebu under the leadership of the new HAPI Pride Ambassador, Dandan Marquez. This was a Cafe Humaniste event and made possible with the help of Humanists International. We are grateful for their support.
