WHERE: Adaptive Sports Connection, 6000 Harriott Rd, Powell, OH
The Adaptive Sports Connection (ASC), a chapter of Move United (formerly Disabled Sports USA), helps Central Ohio veterans, children, and adults who need adaptive equipment or instruction to participate in various sports including skiing, kayaking, sailing and cycling. Participating COUNT members will each work 2.5 hours at this ASC Adaptive Kayaking event. ASC maintains a substantial fleet of kayaks setup to work for paddlers with various capabilities. Volunteers help select and adjust kayaks & life jackets, provide basic paddling instruction, load, launch, accompany while on water and retrieve and store afterwards. Volunteers only do tasks that they have chosen to be trained for and on-the-job training is routinely done.
