COUNT at Columbus CoR Bleed-N(o)-Feed

3 Columbus Coalition of Reason (CoR) volunteers spent a total of 7 hours donating 5 units (2 platelets, and 2 of whole blood) for the July 15, 2021 event at the Carriage Place Red Cross Donor Center in Columbus, Ohio. Some donors give 1 unit of whole blood while others do apheresis donating up to 3 units of platelets (and up to 2 units of plasma) or 2 units of red blood cells. We have to forgo having dinner together during the Covid-19 quarantine and may be donating at different locations on different days. The Red Cross helps us stay safe by checking temperatures and requiring use of hand sanitizer at the door and facemasks. This was the 28th Columbus CoR Bleed-N-Feed since the Central Ohio United Non-Theists (COUNT) helped to expand the longstanding Humanist Community of Central Ohio (HCCO) event. 25 Columbus CoR members spent 212 hours donating 203 units for Bleed-N-Feed events since January 2017. Events are planned for Third Thursdays in January, March, May, July, September and November.
