Disaster Response Lesson and Kits (Secular Week of Action)

As part of GO Humanity's Disaster Response Initiative, we taught lessons to ~15 children in 2 ESE classes at Sabal Palm Elementary School, which services the poorest zip code in the Florida (32304). We did a brief discussion on what a disaster is, how to prepare for it, what to do during one, and then we packed small emergency kits for the the children to take home. Each kit contained a bag for important documents and emergency numbers, first aid items, gloves and masks, a manual can opener, an emergency whistle, cleaning items, and even playing cards for to bide the time till the electricity comes back on! #SecularWeekOfAction
