On May 1, 2023, 13 children of HAPI Bulacan met at the headquarters to harvest fresh lettuce from their hydroponics garden. After harvesting, they were taught how to prepare a fresh and healthy salad from start to finish.
They were instructed to wash their hands thoroughly, prepare some of the vegetables with proper assistance, peel the hard-boiled eggs, and mix the salad ingredients. They all sat and enjoyed their healthy snack together before heading home with some fresh tomatoes.
It is important for children to understand the importance of growing their own produce and preparing healthy snacks or meals. The hydroponics garden was donated by GO Humanity. Thank you to GO Humanity for graciously helping with the community garden of HAPI Bulacan.
