On March 18, 2023, HAPI Bulacan held its first Fire Prevention Month Awareness Campaign at Pinagbakahan, Malolos City, Bulacan. It was held at the Pinagbakahan Elementary School with approximately 80 in attendance. The speakers from BFP R3 City of Malolos discussed topics such as basic home fire safety, how to prevent hazards that are caused by fires, and overall safety precautions during the occurrence of a fire. This will be followed up with basic drills that will involve the participation of all the attendees at a later date. The combination of information and application of what they have learned will promote a safer community, especially with hotter months coming. Many thanks to BFP R3 City of Malolos for conducting the training. HAPI Bulacan also wishes to thank barangay captain Enzo Versoza for supporting their advocacy. /March is considered to be one of the warmest months in the Philippines. According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), temperature and humidity reach maximum levels throughout the archipelago. That is why it is also considered Fire Prevention Month by BFP. It is also the month with the most fire incidents in the country, prompting the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), government units, firefighting agencies, and educational institutions to conduct various fire prevention activities. Accordingly, the BIF is also mandated to prevent and suppress all kinds of destructive fires, investigate their causes, enforce fire-related laws, provide emergency medical and rescue services, and anchor the Fire Prevention Month activities, conducted yearly during March./
