HAPI – Delarama Dengue Awareness Campaign (Part 2)

On the morning of July 31, 2022, a total of four volunteers packed 32 bags of assorted vegetables to be distributed to the families in the chapter. 28 children received Vitamin C to help boost their immune systems. We conducted a discussion about dengue and the different ways to prevent any outbreaks. This included tips on how to keep their homes safe, how to keep their bodies healthy through vitamins and good nutrition, and proper hygiene habits. This discussion was followed by a Q& A portion to review what was discussed. There was then a very short discussion about Monkeypox and how all these tips can actually prevent more than just dengue. After the program, the parents and guardians cleaned the venue where the meeting was held, removing all trash and puddles of water. The parents and guardians were very cooperative and receptive to the information. They also shared their own experiences growing up that involved dengue prevention.
