HAPI Reading Room Beginner Session

The year is coming to an end, but the HAPI Alabang team, with the guidance of HAPI Jr, has started to conduct sessions at the HAPI Reading Room in Alabang. The location serves as a place for the children to soon learn about humanist values in a fun and safe environment. This particular event focused on 25 children between the ages of 3 and 5 years old, all residents of the area. They were given toys and puzzles to share and were observed as to how well they got along and socialized with the other children. They then took part in exercises to see how well they recognized colors, shapes, and animals, and their communication skills were also observed. These seemingly basic skills had to be observed to help us better plan future lessons for them and group them according to their levels. This is an important step towards opening their eyes to humanism. It should also be noted that their parents all agreed to the secular learning program and are fully aware of how their children will be taught and what they will learn at the HAPI Reading Room. The children were then sent home with their snacks and the pictures they drew of the animals.
