The HAPI Alabang team, with the guidance of HAPI Jr, conducted a second session at HAPI
Reading Room in Alabang. 28 children between the ages of 6 and 9 years old, all residents of
the area, came to play board games and read books that are part of the library. This gave us the
opportunity to see how well they socialized and got along with the other children and to observe
their reading levels. This was also a chance for us to see which books and stories they were
most interested in. These observations will help us better plan future lessons for them and
group them according to their levels. Their lessons will be rooted in humanist values and secular
learning. Their parents have consented to this and are aware of what the future lessons will be
based on.
