Secular Week of Action Collection Drive

The national Secular Week of Action (April 28-May 7) celebrates what human beings can achieve together when we dedicate ourselves to ethical action. Our Kol Hadash community will be collecting items for The Ark’s Food Pantry, and then during an All-Congregation Volunteer Session, we’ll sort them for distribution to those in need. The Ark’s Food Pantry offers kosher food, necessary household products, and personal care items all at no cost to those who need it. They have been going through their pantry donations at a faster rate than ever with the ongoing increase of grocery prices, and the reduction of SNAP benefits for each individual receiving emergency assistance. Please bring items from The Ark's Pantry Collection List to one of our following collection drives. Friday, April 21 at 7:30pm at Shabbat Services at North Shore Unitarian Church Sunday, April 23 at 9:30am at Sunday School at Deerfield High School Saturday, April 29 at 5:00pm at Progressive Dinner (appetizer house) Everyone is encouraged to join us on Sunday, April 30 at 9:30-11:30am at our Sunday School at Deerfield High School for our Secular Week of Action All-Congregation Volunteer Session! Together we'll sort and process all the items collected by our Kol Hadash community. Afterwards, they’ll be brought to The Ark’s warehouse to go on their shelves for distribution to their clients.
