Secular Week of Action offers an alternative to the National Day of Prayer, a day set aside in federal law for the people of the United States to “turn to God in prayer.” Prayer is not an adequate response to national crises. Take action! St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance distributes 45,000 free Emergency Food Boxes to individuals and families in need every month. Join a group of happy humanists to help pack Emergency Food Boxes with non-perishable items, sort food, and repack bulk produce. Together we'll do a whole lot of good in a short amount of time! We will begin promptly at the scheduled shift time. Please try to arrive early to chat and get settled so we can start right at 9:00. Stay safe and comfy while volunteering in the warehouse by following the required DRESS CODE: • Closed-toe shoes (Sneakers suggested) • Shirts with sleeves (Short or long sleeve) • Pants, jeans, or workout attire. (Shorts are allowed at a respectable length) Please remember to keep your RSVP up to date so we can show up with a full crew. Thank you! Reach us at volunteer@hsgp.org with any questions. SOMETHING ABOUT MARY: St. Mary’s Food Bank Alliance is a non-sectarian, nonprofit organization that alleviates hunger by gathering and distributing food to 600 locations that serve the hungry.
