We are joining Central Florida Freethought (CFFC) to volunteer as a group with United Against Poverty Orlando grocery center and warehouse! Thank you to CFFC for coordinating this volunteer opportunity.
UP Orlando is a secular charity: https://uporlando.org/about-us
"Team UP 360 volunteers support our UP Orlando Grocery Program, which allows people living in poverty to purchase food, hygiene and household items for up to 70% off regular prices. These savings mean that people can purchase enough food – quality food – without having to choose between feeding their families or paying other bills."
Children must be 10 or older to participate and a parent must be present. Children accompanied by a non-parent chaperone must be 13.
NOTE: You must RSVP to participate, and if you RSVP, please be sure to attend as we have a specific number of spots to fill on the roster. We will contact you to confirm and remind you.
Here are the possible work opportunities depending on what is needed:
- Produce: Stocking coolers and creating displays
- Freezers: Cleaning, organizing and stocking freezers
- Stocking Shelves
- Warehouse: Sorting products coming in.
- Member Marketplace: processing donations
- Campus Clean-up: Various sanitation duties, including parking lot clean-up, gathering carts, sweeping and mopping.
