April is Parkinson’s Awareness Month. Our community member, Jack Maurice, is living with Parkinson’s and has asked us to join his team as he walks in the 2022 Walk for Parkinson’s. Jack is a longtime advocate for humanism in Orlando and is the founder of the Orlando Humanists Association and Orlando Atheists & Freethinkers. He has been a strong cheerleader for North Orlando Oasis—let’s be great cheerleaders for Jack! The Walk for Parkinson’s is more than just a walk. The event highlights movement and exercise as a symbol of hope and progress in finding a cure for Parkinson's disease. It is an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the Parkinson Association of Central Florida, which supports local community programs and research to find a cure. This event is a fundraiser, but YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PAY TO PARTICIPATE. Folks who wish to join us will need to register and set a fundraising goal, but don’t worry about raising money: Jack just wants his community to come out in support. Folks who wish to support through donations are encouraged to do so, and you can donate on Jack's team page. THIS IS AN ALL-AGES, family-friendly event. To attend, you do need to register on the PACF site.
