The Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation is grateful to have been chosen as a Foundation Beyond Belief Challenge the Gap Beneficiary in 2015. The support we received has helped us to continue to bring hope, healing, and self-sufficiency to individuals and families in need.  Last year, marked our 10th anniversary and the honor of being a Challenge the Gap Beneficiary has affirmed that our programs and services are filling the critical needs of our community and society at large.

In 2015, Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation:

  • Provided a comprehensive scope of culturally sensitive services to more than 230 Domestic Violence survivors

  • Provided financial assistance supporting the basic needs of close to 600 families

  • Engaged Muslim youth in over 600 hours of volunteer community service providing aid to the needy

  • Organized, sponsored, and participated in over 40 interfaith meetings and events with our neighbors from Christian, Jewish, Sikh, Hindu and other faiths.  TMWF’s Outreach Program annually reaches up to 20,000 individuals through media, news, and other outreach

  • Hosted over 25 community education workshops serving to increase awareness on topics such as family wellness, international cultures, financial literacy, domestic violence, and abuse of women and children, and much more

  • Reached global audiences through the weekly TMWF Peace in the Home show on Radio Azad featuring a wide spectrum of topics including, domestic violence, human rights, youth volunteerism and leadership, and online safety for youth. Radio Azad is a Dallas-Fort Worth based internet radio station which has listeners in 35 U.S. states, 500 cities around the world, and 65 countries.

Our diverse programs — Social Services, Youth Leadership Development, Interfaith Dialogue,   and Education Outreach — have been critical in promoting peace, mutual understanding, respect, and building relationships within the culturally and religiously diverse population of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. With the generosity of friends like Foundation Beyond Belief, TMWF has been able to bring peace, dignity, and renewed hope to individuals, families and within our world.  Thank you!

While beneficiaries in four of our five categories are strictly secular, Challenge the Gap gives those members so inclined the option to support a non-proselytizing, progressive religious charity working for the common good.Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation was our 2015 Q4 Challenge the Gap beneficiary and received a $8000 grant from Foundation Beyond Belief this year.
