Hygiene Kit Packaging, November 5, 2022

We were fortunate enough to have three members from a single family to help us pack the Hygiene Kits. A high school student was accompanied by her mother and uncle. The student received volunteer hours to fulfill her school requirement. We prepared separate kits for women with women's crew socks and feminine hygiene products. A fourth volunteer joined us; he was new to the DC area and was looking for a public service event that was not sponsored by a church. Hygiene Kits are assembled in an assembly line fashion. Volunteers pick up a zip-lock bag and move down a line of Hygiene Kit items. The first item is always a pair of socks. Then nail clippers are added. This time a nonperishable pouch of tuna was added, snacks, a spoon, bar sop, towelettes, a safety razor with shaving cream, a small flashlight, candy, toothpicks/dental floss, bandaids, feminine hygiene items, deodorant, and a business card.
