Two community volunteers (Terra and John) helped us to package the items for the Hygiene Kits. It took about 4 1/2 hours. We packaged 100 Hygiene Kits. The most important items were, as always, socks. However, the breakfast bars and the nonperishable protein (chicken) pouches were also important because our clients enjoy them.
We boxed up lollipops, COVID 19 masks, and shoes separately. Baseball caps and durable shopping bags were also donated.
After the items were in the kits we carried them to the car where they will stay for a week until the Distribution event.
One important note is that we advertised for volunteers on Nextdoor, a phone app (also https://nextdoor.com). We proudly announced that we are Atheists Helping the Homeless and were happy to get some community support.
